Hello! My name is Kelly and I’m a mother of 2 – H (boy, born 2007) and Tink (girl, born 2012). I’m married to D - 'The Hubby' and also have a grown-up stepson, J.
Late in 2016 I gave up my job as a childcare professional as it was becoming clear that my own children needed me around more than other people’s! Tink is autistic and we have been on a steep learning curve since her diagnosis in June 2015! You can find more about this in the 'Autism' section, under It’s a Tink Thing.
As well as all the usual parenting issues that befall most of us as we trip and stumble our way through this journey, I have also experienced post-natal depression, as well as clinical depression and anxiety. I have (long ago now, thankfully) been in an emotionally abusive relationship and lived to tell the tale – just. All these things amount to a heck of a lot of life experience, but I’m always learning!
My family is my life! We love spending time together (or at least, for a while, until we drive each other mad!).
We enjoy travelling around the country by train (H, J and The Hubby are train-mad, and Tink seems to be going that way too!) We (sadly) have recently had to sell our huge car, affectionately named, ‘The Beast’; we spent a fabulous few weeks camping in Summer 2016, using The Beast as a camper van!
The Hubby works hard in his job for a well-known railway company (yes, his hobby is also his work!) which allows me to spend time writing and honing my photography skills. I have wonderful parents who have supported me through the good times and bad, the career changes and crazy ideas and who are usually the first to read, like and share most of my blog and social media posts! (Thanks Mom and Dad!)
ramble write about all aspects of life, including parenting (and parenting a child with additional needs), health and well-being, family travel, reviews and more.
I have recently decided to tackle my weight problem, and am finding I’m enjoying writing about my weightloss journey, sharing recipes as well as the food fails – I’m not perfect!
I love to share my photography too. I’m very much an amateur, but I love taking photos of a range of subjects, including food, nature and, of course, my kids. If they stand still long enough!
I am beginning to focus my blog on helping out mums like me – busy, stressed and trying to cram it all in, so I’ll be offering tips and life hacks, easy family recipes and fun activities for the kids to try at the weekends.
