Christmas Present Ideas for Kids – Sorted with Wicked Uncle! – Review

Kel Reviews Leave a Comment

Buying for kids at Christmas is either dead easy, or really tricky! For me, anyway. Small is easy; she’s at the stage of development where anything related to TV shows would be a winner. Her current wish list is pretty much the entire toy store catalogue! Big, on the other hand, is the more tricky one. He’s 10; he’s at that age where they’re almost-but-not-quite too big for toys (but still secretly wants them!), but he doesn’t want money or vouchers as he still wants to open actual presents on Christmas morning. He hasn’t even come up with a real list yet (with just over three weeks to go – eek!), but so far, what he has written down is mostly computer/Xbox related. Again. Fortunately, the Wicked Uncle website has come to my rescue, with some amazing Christmas present ideas for kids!

Christmas presents for kids - sorted with Wicked Uncle! Try this fab site to find gifts for kids of all ages!

Wicked Uncle is a brilliant website jam-packed with Christmas present ideas for kids of all ages. It’s an absolute treasure trove of toys, games and more, and I’m bound to find some things to make sure Big has his gifts to open on the 25th.

The website is ridiculously easy to navigate. The home page displays options for choosing gifts by gender, age or category, to narrow down the immense choice somewhat!

Categories include ‘adventurer‘, ‘brainiac‘, ‘creativity‘ and ‘snuggly‘. There is also a ‘sensory‘ category, which I found is great for kids with additional needs like Small. I’m sure I’ll find some extra bits for her in there (I loved the look of this light-up, magnetic building set!)

The variety of toys and games available on the website is decent. There are educational toys, toys for sheer fun and silliness, creative stuff, puzzles, board games and even unicorn poo!

I love how easy the website makes it to find gifts to suit the children in your life (although there’s still a tonne of choice even when you’ve narrowed down the category!). There’s even a section for Secret Santa present ideas for kids costing under a tenner – brilliant!

I sent my brother, my children’s own (not so) Wicked Uncle a voucher to spend on the site so he could find my two some fab gifts for Christmas. This is what he came up with…

Jellyfish Mood Light

Small is a very sensory little thing and loves anything with lights and movement. This jellyfish lamp is perfect for her and will go nicely in her bedroom, where she can watch the jellies float up and down as she drifts off to sleep! Priced at £18.95.

Air Shot

Big is very into Nerf-type guns at the moment, so I know he’ll love this Air Shot Floating Target Game! The difficulty can be increased by making the balls float higher and it comes with two guns so he can have a shoot-off with another player. Priced at £19.95.

Uncle Andy’s review of the Wicked Uncle was much the same as mine; he liked the fact he could choose by age and found the results to be accurate. He also liked that he could choose by categories he knows the kids will be interested in. He would have liked a larger range, but found the gifts on offer to be a good range and the site is user-friendly.

So, if you’re stuck for Christmas present ideas for kids you need to buy for this Christmas, give Wicked Uncle a go – if you don’t find something suitable, I’ll eat my Santa hat!

If you also want the kids to understand about the giving as well as the receiving, why not take a look at my Reverse Advent Calendar post?

Disclosure: We were compensated by Wicked Uncle for a fair and honest review, however, all opinions are my own, or that of my kids’ ‘Wicked Uncle’ Andy!
