Fill your home with love hearts this February with these easy crafts for Valentine’s Day! Whether you want to hand craft a a card, or give your secret crush a little gift I have some ideas for you. Or perhaps you want to make a fun Valentine’s animal craft with the kids? These easy crafts for Valentine’s Day don’t need many materials and are so simple to make!

1 Mini Envelope Card

This simple, but cute little card uses the following materials:

  • Card
  • Patterned paper
  • Plain coloured paper
  • Washi tape
  • Wooden hearts or similar decorations
  • Glue dots
  • Glue stick
  • Mini envelope template (you can download one here)

First, draw around your envelope template on the reverse of the patterned paper, and cut out. Do this for as many envelopes as you need.

Use a bone folder (or ruler and the tip of some scissors!) to score along the folds of the envelope.

Use a glue stick to glue the sides of the envelope together when folded.

Leave the top flap open!

Cut a strip of washi tape or ribbon to the width of the card, and stick on. Place the envelope on top, using the glue dots to stick it in place. Cut a small piece of coloured paper to make your ‘letter’ and write your romantic message on. Decorate with a wooden heart. Add another wooden heart in the bottom corner of the card.

2 Tiny Sweetie Jars

To make these cute little gifts for your secret crush, you will need:

  • Mini kilner jars
  • Scrap fabric
  • Fabric heart shapes
  • Sweets (I used heart shaped Haribos, TicTacs, and Celebrations chocolates, but Love Hearts would be nice!)
  • Heart shaped tag with twine

Remove the lid of one jar and use a glass slightly larger than the lid to draw around on the reverse of the fabric. Cut out.

Stretch the fabric across the lid and secure it with the seal.

Decorate the jar using fabric hearts. These are self adhesive, but otherwise, you could use glue dots.

Add your sweets to the jar.

Decorate the tag with another fabric heart and tie around the lid of the jar.

These would make cute party or wedding favours too!

3 Fun Fox

This cute little fox is easy for kids to make – why not try several in different colours? You will need:

  • Sheet(s) of Funky Foam in your chosen colours
  • Felt in a contrasting colour
  • Coloured paper (for the bow – a scrap will do)
  • Buttons and sequins
  • Heart stickers
  • Fabric heart decoration
  • Glue dots
  • PVA glue

Fold a piece of paper in half and draw half a heart shape from the fold out. Cut out. This is your template.

Place the template on the Funky Foam and draw around it. Cut out.

Repeat the process with a smaller heart shape and cut out of the felt.

Cut triangles from the Funky Foam, and slightly smaller triangles from the felt. These are the ears.

Cut the felt heart in half. Glue the felt pieces to the foam with PVA glue. Glue the ears to the back of the heart at the top.

Add sequins to the buttons to make they eyes and stick to the felt with the glue dots. Add a fabric heart decoration for the fox’s nose. Cut a bow from the coloured paper and add heart sticker to decorate. Stick near an ear using a glue dot.
