I’ve had a mixed week, that started with me feeling somewhat deflated and is ending on a real high! And all it took? A little self-belief.
I’ve always been pretty rubbish at the whole self-confidence thing, probably as a result of what happened during my late teens/early twenties. But that’s a story for another day. I’m definitely a ‘glass half empty’ kinda gal, but I’m slowly beginning to change this, thanks to the guidance and support of a couple of fabulous groups I belong to online.
I’ve been making a rather tentative effort to be a ‘proper blogger’, whatever one of those is, for the last few months, but I’ve been looking out for other opportunities too. You know, just in case the blogging thing doesn’t pan out.
And then, this week, I had a bit of an epiphany: Why am I waiting for opportunities to come to me, when I can create them myself? It’s not rocket science!
So, that’s exactly what I’ve done. I’ve told myself that of course the blogging will pan out, and I’ve taken steps to ensure that I’m heading the right way with it.
But the even bigger thing is that I’ve set up a completely new venture, and already have my first paying client. Plus, I’ve been offered the chance for some unpaid work, but it will give me practice and experience in my new field.
Turns out, all I needed was to believe in myself, and then other people will believe in me too! Now nothing’s going to stop me from making a success of myself this year!
