Monday Motivation: How should we define success?

Kel Blog, Monday Motivation Linky 6 Comments

Do you ever feel that if something has gone wrong, you’ve failed? More and more lately, I’m trying not to look at things that way. Instead, I’m trying to use the things I would have, in the past, called ‘failures’ as ‘learning opportunities’. I know, I know, it’s a bit woo-woo, but, really, that’s what they are!

Monday Motivation Linky Success - "Success is about doing the right thing, not about doing everything right."

Instead of worrying that we’ve done everything right (and, therefore achieved success), we should really be looking to see if what we’re doing is the right thing. And, if it is – if it feels right – then, hurray! That’s true success! All those things that didn’t quite go to plan don’t really matter – just don’t make the same mistake again.

The Monday Motivation Linky is back! This time, our lovely Jeannette from Autism Mumma is our host, and we are joined by a new co-host, Marylin, from Soft Thistle Life. She’ll get her turn on host duty next time!

If you want to join in with the linky, you can head on over to Jeannette’s blog, or you can always add your post on one of the co-hosts sites (Debs at Chaos in Kent is the other one!). Click on the button below if you want to add from my blog.

Looking forward to seeing what inspiration we get this fortnight!

I love this! It is so difficult to always do everything right and to be able to teach the younger generation to understand and do the right thing must be a positive message. This week my girl has had a bit of a meltdown about GCSE work and revision – but this is a great way to turn round what she views as “failures”..they really aren’t!! Thanks for another great #MMLinky

I think theres a lot to be said for things feeling right, things going right. As long as they do, thats success! Thanks for hosting #themmlinky

Success is like wealth – we can choose to define it in our own way and are much happier when we wake up to that. Sometimes what we see as failures or flaws will be the very things we are loved and remembered for. #TheMMLinky

Nothing seem to go to plan for us, that’s why I always focus on what we can rather than what we can’t do. x

Ahh this is so true! If we don’t make mistakes, how can we learn? It’s so important to find the lessons… something I find I’ve taught the boys through them seeing my own experiences of making mistakes. 🙂 x #TheMMLinky

You’re so right. I must remember this more often. #themmlinky
