The Weekly Weigh In – Week 4

Monday is Weigh Day! Here are this week’s stats:

Week: 4

Loss: 1.5lbs

Total to date: 10.5lbs

Phew! I’m amazed I lost any at all this week; it’s been a very mixed week of ‘food optimising’, as in I followed the plan for the first few days, then optimised the opportunity to eat cake and fish and chips and drink prosecco at the weekend by way of a celebration.

In the past when I’ve been doing Slimming World, I’d never have done that. I always stuck to the plan 100%, otherwise I’d be cheating myself. And, whilst that is true, I’ve also come to realise that sometimes, exceptions can be made and it’s not the end of the world. Yes, I could have had just the cake, or just one glass of prosecco, or taken the batter off the fish and made my own chips, but where’s the fun in that? The whole point of a takeaway is that you don’t have to make it yourself! And who has just one glass of prosecco?!

So yes, I had a couple of ‘bad’ days and was fully prepared for the consequences, but it seems I’ve been let off this time. I won’t become complacent though; ‘cheating’ on a regular basis just leads to all the bad habits creeping back in, and you’re quickly back to square one.

This week’s favourite meal was my breakfast!

No, not that one, although it was delicious and rather naughty! No, this is the one I have most days as it’s yummy and pretty filling:

In this bowl of deliciousness we have:

40g Post Grape Nuts (Healthy ‘b’ choice)

Mullerlight Banana and Custard yoghurt

You could use any fruit you wanted, but I find this combo works nicely. The grape nuts (not grapes, not nuts – not sure why they’re named as such!) add a lovely crunchy texture.

So, there we have it. A bad week with a surprisingly good end! Must try harder this week…
